7 Waiver Wire Adds This Week You Can't Afford to Miss

Your league-mates are already filing claims. Three of the players on this list have legitimate RB2 or WR2 ceilings for the next month, and if you're sitting on a dead roster spot waiting for someone better to appear, you deserve to lose. Week 3 waiver wire decisions have a habit of defining entire fantasy seasons — and right now, the landscape is unusually rich. Here are the seven adds we'd be sprinting to the waiver wire for.

1. Emanuel Wilson, RB, Seattle Seahawks

This isn't a handcuff situation — this is a feature back opportunity. Wilson is operating in Seattle's backfield with a full-speed workload and the Seahawks have one of the more run-friendly offensive identities in the NFC West. At rank #161 on Sleeper, he is criminally underpriced for what we think is an RB2 role that could crystallize by Week 5. Drop your least valuable bench stash and make the claim. Ceiling here is legitimate.

2. Adonai Mitchell, WR, New York Jets

The Jets' receiving corps has been a revolving door of disappointment for years, but Mitchell could be the guy who finally earns a featured slot role and sticks. He's ranked #162 overall right now, and we'd argue that number is going to look laughably low by October. Mitchell is a long-strider with contested-catch ability — exactly the receiver type that flourishes in a vertical system. If the Jets' offense strings together even two consecutive competent performances, Mitchell benefits first.

3. Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles

Here's the contrarian take nobody wants to say out loud: Tank Bigsby landing in Philadelphia might be the best thing that ever happened to his career. The Eagles run the ball. A lot. They commit to it in ways that most NFL teams simply don't anymore. Bigsby at rank #147 is already priced in as a contributor, but we think the market still underestimates how quickly he could seize a lead role if the depth chart shifts. Add him now before that happens and you're paying premium prices.

4. Denzel Boston, WR, Cleveland Browns

If you told us a year ago we'd be enthusiastically recommending a Browns receiver, we'd have laughed. But Boston has quietly been one of the more intriguing waiver stories of the early season. Ranked #153, he's operating in a Cleveland offense that desperately needs someone to step up as a legitimate downfield threat. Boston has the size and route-running refinement to be that guy. This is the situational analysis add: low-end WR3 right now, ascending fast if Cleveland's passing game finds any rhythm.

5. Tyler Shough, QB, New Orleans Saints

Two-QB and Superflex managers, stop scrolling. Shough at rank #90 overall for a quarterback is value hiding in plain sight. New Orleans has weapons — the Saints didn't gut their offensive infrastructure — and Shough has looked composed operating a pro-style system. We're not saying he's a top-five QB, but in Superflex formats where the position runs thin fast, a #90-ranked signal-caller on the wire is a luxury you won't have in Week 5. Grab him as your backup now, not as your emergency call on Sunday morning.

6. Terrance Ferguson, TE, Los Angeles Rams

The tight end position is a disaster in most fantasy leagues every single year, and yet people wait too long to address it. Ferguson checks in at rank #141, which we find genuinely surprising given the Rams' tendency to funnel targets into the seam. Los Angeles has used tight ends as safety valves in their offense since the Sean McVay era began, and Ferguson is the latest heir to that role. If you're currently streaming a TE every week and losing points because of it, Ferguson is your answer for the rest of 2024.

7. Keon Coleman, WR, Buffalo Bills

This one is a bold hot take wrapped in a statistical argument: Coleman at rank #206 is one of the most disrespected receivers in fantasy football right now. Buffalo's offense, when healthy and clicking, generates enough volume to support multiple fantasy-viable pass catchers. Coleman's physical profile — a jump-ball specialist with legitimate red zone gravity — fits perfectly in Josh Allen's scheme. We think Coleman is a weekly WR3 with WR2 upside in the right matchup, and at #206 you're paying almost nothing for that ceiling. This is the add that makes your league-mates nervous when they see your roster next week.

The waiver wire window closes fast, and the gap between acting Tuesday morning and waiting until Wednesday is often the difference between landing a starter and grabbing someone else's leftovers. We'll be updating our rankings and streaming recommendations throughout the week as injury reports roll in — bookmark us now, because Week 4 is already setting up to be a pivotal swing week for playoff positioning in most 14-game formats.
